Vagaro vs Corterra Book: Side by Side

Vagaro and Corterra Book compared on booking, groups and shared rooms, payments, memberships, forms, finding new clients, and what each costs. Written by the person who makes one of them.

Vagaro vs Corterra Book: Side by Side

Most people comparing these two are already on Vagaro, or about to sign up. Maybe the add-ons have started to stack up, or you're adding a sauna or a cold plunge that several people book at the same hour. Either way, you want to know what you'd gain and what you'd give up.

Here's the short version. Once you add the forms, online payments and check-in most practices use, the two come out within $10 a month of each other, with Corterra Book $10 less for a solo therapist. Vagaro sends text reminders free, its marketplace can send you new clients, and it has a waitlist and payroll, which Corterra Book doesn't. Corterra Book fits better when people book in groups or share a room, when most of your clients are regulars on memberships, or when you'd rather have forms and payments in the plan price than paid for as add-ons.

I make Corterra Book, so I'm not neutral here. Everything about Vagaro comes from its pricing page and help center, checked in September 2026. The prices are Vagaro's regular prices, not its introductory offer. If you want Vagaro's whole add-on menu priced out, that's in Mindbody vs Vagaro.

What it costs at your size

Here's what each one costs with the add-ons most practices turn on, for one person and for a small team. Card processing is left out, since Vagaro doesn't publish its full rates.

Corterra Book is $10 a month less for one person, and the same for a team of three. The one-person columns leave out self check-in. It's $10 a month on Vagaro, and on Corterra Book it comes with the $80 Pro plan.

Neither total includes text reminders. Vagaro sends them free. On Corterra Book they're the $30 a month texting add-on, which also gets you two-way texting and a local number. Two-way texting on Vagaro needs its text plan, from $20 a month.

Where they differ is what the price covers. Corterra Book's covers group bookings, shared rooms and a move done for you. Vagaro's covers free text reminders and a marketplace listing.

Booking and your calendar

Both cover everyday booking well. The difference shows up when more than one person books at once.

Getting paid

Both take cards in person and online, keep a card on file, and let you charge a no-show fee. They charge you for it differently.

Memberships and packages

Both sell memberships, packages and gift cards. Clients can buy all three online on both, and Vagaro charges $10 a month for it.

Here's what a Corterra Book membership can do, so you can check it against what you run on Vagaro:

Members can update their own card when a renewal fails, so you're not chasing them for it.

On Corterra Book, memberships, packages and gift cards are sold at the front desk, and once you turn on the online shop, clients can buy them on their phone too. The shop is on both plans. On Vagaro, the $10 Online Shopping Cart sells all three online. Vagaro also has a loyalty program in its base plan, and Corterra Book has none.

Corterra Book processes membership renewals at 3.2% plus 30 cents.

Forms and check-in

Forms are included on Corterra Book and a $10 a month add-on on Vagaro, and that add-on is also where Vagaro's SOAP notes are. Corterra Book's SOAP notes come with every plan, with a body chart, pain before and after, and signing that locks the note.

Corterra Book's intake forms and waivers are signed online before the visit, or on an iPad at check-in on the Pro plan. One form can cover several services. Forms can include a body diagram where clients tap the front and back to show you where it hurts, and the marks show up on the signed PDF. If you're writing your first one, I made a free massage intake form you can start from.

Self check-in on an iPad is part of Corterra Book's $80 Pro plan. On Vagaro, the Check-In App is $10 a month.

Finding new clients

This one goes to Vagaro.

Corterra Book has no marketplace and no review requests. There's no website builder, but if you don't have a site, the Business Page gives you one public page with your About, services and hours that search engines can find. Vagaro's website builder, MySite, is $20 a month.

Corterra Book is built around keeping the clients you already have. You get promo codes and links that apply a discount and pick the service, you can email an offer to one client, and you can put an announcement on your booking page. On Pro, you can email groups of clients, like everyone who hasn't been in for two months, and see how much each email brought back.

For your existing clients, Corterra Book's AI assistant does the job Fill My Books does, without a cut of the booking. You connect an AI you already use, like Claude, and ask it to help fill next week. It finds the open times and the clients who usually book on those days, and on Pro it drafts the email and sends it once you approve. It's in early access, so ask me and I'll turn it on. We don't charge for it right now. It won't find you new clients the way Vagaro's marketplace can.

If new clients are what you need most right now, this section probably decides it.

Which one fits

Corterra Book is probably the better fit if:

Stay on Vagaro if:

If you do switch, moving over is free. You can import your client list yourself from a spreadsheet, or send it to me and I'll do it for you. If you have memberships or packages running, I'll help you set those up too. Saved cards don't move between payment processors, so members add their card again. The 15 day free trial lets you set up your own services and see how they look before you move anything.

FAQ

Is Corterra Book cheaper than Vagaro? With the add-ons most practices use, it is the same or a little less. A solo therapist with intake forms and online payments pays $50 a month on Vagaro and $40 on Corterra Book. Three therapists who also use self check-in pay $80 on both. Text reminders are the exception: free on Vagaro, a $30 a month add-on on Corterra Book. Card processing is extra on both.

Does Corterra Book have a marketplace like Vagaro? No. Clients book you through your own booking page, however they found you.

Can Corterra Book book a group or a shared sauna? Yes. One booking can hold several people, and each guest fills in their own details. A shared room gets a seat count that goes down as people book. One shared room works on the $40 plan, and several rooms on their own calendars take the $80 Pro plan.

Does Corterra Book have something like Fill My Books? For your existing clients, yes. The AI assistant finds your open times and the clients who usually book on those days, and on Pro it drafts the email and sends it once you approve. It takes no cut of the booking, and we don't charge for it during early access. It won't find you new clients the way Vagaro's marketplace can.

Does Corterra Book have SOAP notes? Yes. Every plan has SOAP notes on the client record: one per visit, with pain before and after, a body chart, and signing that locks the note, with dated addenda for corrections. On Vagaro, SOAP notes come with the $10 a month Forms add-on.

Are text reminders free on Corterra Book? Email confirmations and reminders are free. Text reminders come with the $30 a month texting add-on, which also includes a local business number, two-way texting, call forwarding and voicemail.

Can I move from Vagaro to Corterra Book? Yes, and it's free. Export your client list from Vagaro, then import it yourself or send it to me and I'll do it. Saved cards can't be moved, so members add their card again.

Does Corterra Book have a free trial? Yes, 15 days with everything in your plan turned on.
